The Opportunity
A well-established, multi-sector wholesaler is looking for a hands-on Sales Director to lead and motivate the sales function as the organisation continues to deliver on its ambitious expansion plans. The organisation has a forward-thinking approach, and is investing in its commercial leadership team, seeking a dynamic, bright, people-focused sales leader.
Role Overview
The Sales Director will lead the national field sales team, as well as a team of office-based account managers, and will be responsible for driving sales performance across a broad range of product portfolios in a fast-moving, multi-SKU product environment. The role is focused on operational sales leadership, hands on management and promoting business growth through ongoing sales performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the national sales team (Regional Sales Managers).
- Drive regional sales performance and execution across expansive product portfolios.
- Use data, margin analysis, and P&L insight to shape sales/market/customer strategy.
- Implement and maintain sales processes, reporting, and cadence across the team.
- Support and embed ESG-aligned initiatives within the sales operation and wider business.
- Ensure consistent delivery and empower the Sales Managers to hit commercial targets.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven background leading and growing field-based sales teams in wholesale, distribution, or multi-SKU product environments.
- Strong numerical and commercial capability: confident with margins, data and P&L.
- Hands-on leader who can motivate, challenge, and develop a team.
- Energetic and effective in fast-paced, complex environments.
- Comfortable working in a business with large product ranges and operational complexity.
- Ideally experienced with ESG-related commercial approaches.
- Commutable to site in Hampshire.
