Tax Accountant
SF Recruitment is working with a well-established organisation to recruit a Tax Accountant into a key role within their finance function.
This position will support both corporation tax and indirect tax compliance across the business, working closely with finance and wider stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance and effective tax risk management.
The role would suit a tax professional looking for a broad remit, technical ownership and exposure across both compliance and advisory work. This would suit someone either practice trained within a corporation tax focused role or someone with industry experience in tax.
The role will include:
- Preparation and review of corporation tax computations and returns
- Supporting corporation tax provisions and year-end reporting
- Preparation and review of VAT returns and indirect tax filings
- Advising on corporation tax and VAT matters, including compliance and risk management
- Assisting with tax audits and liaising with HMRC and external advisers
- Monitoring changes in tax legislation and assessing impact on the business
- Supporting wider tax compliance activities where required
- Working with finance teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and data integrity
- Identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies and process improvements
- Maintaining accurate tax records and supporting documentation
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience across corporation tax and VAT compliance
- Be confident preparing tax computations, returns and provisions
- Be comfortable working with financial systems and tax software
- Hold, or be working towards, a professional qualification in accounting or tax
- Have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Be Qualified ACCA/ACA/ATT or CTA
