The Role

SF are working with a well-established UK manufacturing business seeking an experienced Financial Controller on a 6-month FTC. This is a hands-on, on-site role supporting the SLT with responsibility for day-to-day operational finance, reporting, and control. The role will suit someone comfortable running the finance function end-to-end while supporting budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Full ownership of monthly close, management accounts and financial reporting
• Oversee day-to-day operational finance (AP, AR, payroll, treasury)
• Manage year-end process, audit and statutory accounts
• Cashflow forecasting and bank / treasury liaison
• VAT, payroll and pensions oversight
• Stock valuation, provisions and inventory controls
• Budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting with budget holders
• Board reporting and support to senior leadership
• Maintain strong financial controls, governance and risk management
• Commercial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions

Key Requirements

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Proven Financial Controller experience in a manufacturing, FMCG or SME environment
• Strong operational finance background with hands-on delivery
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and non-finance teams
• Strong Excel and financial analysis capability
• ERP experience essential (Dynamics NAV desirable)
• Able to commit to 5 days on-site in Oxfordshire
