Commercial Finance Analyst

SF Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a renowned business in the recruitment of a Commercial Finance Analyst.

The role consists of regular trading reporting and assisting the Senior Commercial Finance Manager and their key stakeholders in analysing and reporting on the key business drivers, with emphasis on sales, margin and costs.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of daily, weekly, monthly trading reports and analysis of margins
- Be a key player in the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts working alongside stakeholders from across the business
- Support the Commercial Finance team in analysing costs and impact on budget/forecast
- Sensitivity analysis and 'what if' scenario modelling to help with trading improvement decision making
- Preparation and posting of month end journals
- Ownership of preparing and distributing monthly store P&L's
- Production and distribution of month end reporting files
- Business partner to understand performance vs budget, promptly highlighting areas of concern, focus or potential improvement and answer P&L queries
- Ad hoc finance analysis for projects and trading queries


The successful candidate will be:

- Confident and experienced at using data analysis tools and software, like Excel, Power BI and SQL to handle high volumes of data
- Proven experience of month end journals, P&L and balance sheet
- Ambition to study for an accountancy qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) - study support will be provided
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic Knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and practices, like budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPIs, especially related to sales and margin
